Take the Time

Another sunny day.
Another set of hours to try and learn from our mistakes.
I visit all my old friends.
It's like turning the pages of a book I've long since read
only to find...

The times they have been changing.
My friends, well they've all changed too.
Our wheels they keep on spinning
on whichever roads we've led them to.

So now we're gonna need some time
to fill all of the holes
to talk of where we'll go
once we step outside.

This old suit of skin doesn't fit me like it did;
But I love to play the role before
I take it off again.
This old heart of mine has grown harder with the time.
It was filled with so much love.
It's kind of hard to find that kind...

Out in the cold emptiness around me.
I'm sure my friends can feel it too.
Too many people out here to blind me.
Do they come with love or here to use?

So now we're gonna make some time
to fill all of the holes
to talk of where we'll go
once we step outside.

We always fought to be ourselves.
We fought for who we were but
now we're something else.
All the changes as we grow,
All the distances we know,
Are under our control
if now...

We're gonna Take the Time
to fill al of the holes,
to talk of where we'll go,
once we step outside.
